"Special Event Service" vs. "The Red Line"
Some areas of the MTS website inconsistently refer to Special Event Service as "Red Line" service. On MTS maps, Special Event Service is denoted by a red hashed line. Why doesn't BetterTrolley refer to this as "Red Line" service? Because it's a profoundly stupid idea.
How so? Imagine this: You're from out-of-town, and someone says you need to take the Red Line to get to the ballgame. You get to the train station, and just get on whatever train comes next, because they're all red. All the trains are bright red.
Of course, for regular riders, this doesn't mean much, because we know how to read the signs on the front of the train. But to have a line the same color as the paint on all of your rolling stock (regardless of route) is unnecessarily confusing.
So, throughout BetterTrolley.com, you'll see Special Event Service shown in gray, and consistently called Special Event Service.
